Temple Beth Shalom in Needham seeks a full time early childhood teacher.

At Temple Beth Shalom, teachers play a key role, setting the tone by valuing each child and family as individuals. By modeling responsibility, welcoming, and caring, teachers foster children’s Jewish identity. TBS Children’s Center teachers have the educational qualifications, dispositions, knowledge, dedication to learning, and professional commitment necessary to promote children and their families as they learn and develop. Teachers work together with their teaching team to develop, implement, and evaluate the classroom pedagogy, to provide a quality educational program reflecting the goals and values of the school. Teachers monitor the development and learning of the children and partner with families in sharing this information. Teachers also supervise and provide guidance to substitutes and classroom volunteers.

SCHEDULE
Mondays-Fridays year round. Teaching from 10:15am-6:15pm with paid time included for planning, family communication, set up and clean up.

SALARY

Our transparent and equitable faculty compensation model includes steps to account for experience, education, longevity, and performance. 

Year Round, 40 hrs/wk (Adjusted for schedule)

Base Salary: $51,500 for Teacher/$49,500 for Novice Teacher

BA Degree: $2,000 addition

BA in Education: $1,000 addition

MA in Education: $1,000 addition

Lead Teacher Certification from EEC: $2,000 addition

Years of Experience Prior to TBS (per year, up to 7 years transfer): $500 per year addition

Milestone Levels (after completing years 2, 5, 8, 11, 14): $1,500 per level addition

Master Teacher designation: $2,500 addition (may be earned after three years)

6:15pm Bonus (teaching five days/week until 6:15pm): $2,000 addition
