Job Summary

Pittsburgh, PA | Fox Chapel

• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours: Monday to Friday | Morning Shift: 7 - 9 am | Afternoon Shift: 3 - 6 pm, no afternoon shift needed Wednesdays | Guaranteed 20 hours/week  | Opportunity for additional hours during school closures and for date nights
• Hourly Rate: $28-32 | Mileage reimbursement for second shift commute
• Kids: 6 & 7-year-old
• Paid Vacation: One week family’s choice, one week nanny’s choice, 1-2 paid holidays; prorated to part-time hours
• Up-To-Date Vaccinations Required, Including Covid and Annual Flu Vaccine

Responsibilities and Duties

• WHO/WHAT: We’re excited to support this professional new-to-Pittsburgh family as they search for a dependable, nurturing nanny to join their household! With two bright, school-aged children, this family is looking for a long-term partner who can bring warmth, structure, and fun to their mornings and afternoons. Both parents work in the medical field with demanding schedules (and occasional hybrid days at home), so having a reliable caregiver they can count on is essential. This role primarily follows a split-shift schedule, helping with the morning routine and getting the kids off to the bus (around 8:30 am), then returning in the afternoon to greet them when they arrive home (around 4 pm). Afternoons include snack prep, homework help, playtime, and getting the kids to and from after-school activities as needed. The family would appreciate help as time allows with light household management tasks—think laundry, tidying and organizing, grocery shopping, meal prep, and the occasional errand to help keep things running smoothly. They’ll also provide mileage reimbursement for both transporting the children and the secondary afternoon commute. When the kids are home, the focus is all about them! Expect mornings filled with gentle guidance to get the day started and afternoons that balance homework, activities, and creative play. Additional hours are available on school closure days, early dismissals, and occasional evenings for date nights. Come summer, the schedule will expand with outings and adventures. The family maintains a pork- and shellfish-free household due to allergies, and one child has mild sensitivities to cats and dust.

You’ll enjoy helping with homework, driving to after-school activities (clean driving record required!), and creating a safe, fun environment for two spirited kids—big brother who is thoughtful, cautious, and imaginative, and little sister who is creative, strong-willed, and independent. Beyond childcare, you’re happy to lend a hand with household management tasks that make life easier for two busy working parents. Your reliability, flexibility, and genuine love for children will make you a key part of this household. • Nanny MUST have previous nanny experience for a minimum of 2 years.
