Job Description

The Electrical CAD Designer will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Electrical CAD software across the orgnization and it's partners. Occasional travel to these locations is expected. This position requires a strong background in CAD Electrical software, including AutoCAD Electrical, SEE Electrical, SolidWorks, and 3D modeling. Experience with electrical CAD and relational databases is a significant plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the subject matter expert for Electrical CAD across the organization.
Maintain and update the parts database with support from internal staff.
Keep 2D and 3D symbol databases current and ensure all user databases and software versions are up to date.
Coordinate databases and integrate CAD software with DXF files for the CNC system and 3D wiring.
Work with vendors to assist in creating templates, 2D/3D symbols, and part information to support design efforts.
Provide technical support and communicate solutions for escalated issues.
Create documentation, including PDF manuals or instructional videos, for troubleshooting and training purposes.

Additional Responsibilities:

Provide ongoing technical support and training to users.
Continuously improve design processes and implement best practices.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of higher education (Associate’s degree or professional certification).
2+ years of experience with CAD packages such as AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, SolidWorks, Inventor, or ProE.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in electrical CAD software.
Experience designing electrical control panels.
Familiarity with SQL and Microsoft Access databases (preferred but not required).
Understanding of manufacturing assembly drawings and electrical datasheets.

Technical aptitude in electrical systems and CAD tools.
